Latest Wilmington High School Teachers awarded free Chevy Malibus

All four Wilmington area High Schools have selected their February "Teacher of the Month" award winners and they've just picked up their brand new '08 Chevrolet Malibus to drive for the next month, along with free gas fill-ups.

Judy Busick of New Hanover High School was nominated along with other teachers and then selected as February's Teacher of the Month by her peers for her hard work and innovative thinking.

Among their outstanding teachers, English teacher, Jackie Nichols was chosen to represent Laney High School.

Hoggard High School allowed staff, students and parents to make nominations and all staff members were eligible. The School Support Team then chose the winner for February-Ms. Brenda Gustafson. Ms. Gustafson is a part of Hoggard's support staff that works in the library.

Ross Cody Adams was chosen to represent Ashley High School.

"Cody is an outstanding math teacher," said Principal James McAdams. "He's very dedicated and goes above the call of duty to see that his students learn. Most days you can even find Cody tutoring students after school."

Congratulations to all our February Teacher of the Month Chevrolet Malibu award winners from Jeff Gordon Chevrolet.

Background

In order to find a way to give more recognition to hardworking teachers, Jeff Gordon Chevrolet has teamed up with the principals of the four High Schools in the Wilmington area to award a deserving "teacher of the month" use of an all-new Chevy Malibu for a month.

Every month starting January 11th through the end of the school year, each of the four High Schools will select a teacher of the month and the selected teacher will get an '08 Malibu to drive for the month. They will also be able to stop by Jeff Gordon Chevrolet once a week for a free fill-up with gas.
