The 2013 Chevy Cruze Offers Comfort And Fuel Economy

The word compact should be ignored when describing the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze. The spacious interior gives it more of a mid-size feel, providing a comfortable ride, even when the car is full with five-passengers. The multi-level instrument panel and wrap-around dash provide an aesthetically pleasing look that could be mistaken for a much pricier sedan. In addition to the padded dash, the Cruze features amenities like rubber-gripped climate controls and audio dials that add a nice touch for drivers who appreciate quality down to the last detail.

The 2013 Chevy Cruze is available in five trim levels, including the fuel-efficient Eco trim, which offers an EPA-estimated 42 MPG on the highway. The fully loaded Chevy Cruze LTZ  is packed with upgrades like 18.5-inch alloy wheels, chrome door handles, and a seven-inch diagonal color touch screen that features the Chevy MyLink system.
While the Cruze's performance and standard features are best in class, owners should also take proper care of their new Chevrolet with a scheduled oil change in Wilmington, North Carolina. In addition to bringing the Chevy Cruze and a complete selection of Award Winning Chevrolet vehicles to North Carolina car shoppers, Jeff Gordon Chevrolet provides unmatched Factory Authorized Chevrolet service.

Chevrolet Unveils Small Car Concepts at SEMA Show

General Motors  revealed numerous concept vehicles featuring stylized twists on Chevrolet’s existing small-car lineup. The cars will be shown off in public for the first time at the 2012 SEMA Show in Las Vegas from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3.

SEMA attracts over 60,000  car enthusiasts interested in performance vehicles, stylized design and accessories such as unique paint colors and dynamic interior aesthetics.

GM also announced it would sell a special kit that can be used to transform the subcompact Chevrolet Sonic into a race car. The B-Spec modifications will be sold in the first quarter of 2013 at Chevrolet Performance retail locations with pricing starting at nearly $3,000, said Jim Campbell, GM’s U.S. vice president of performance vehicles and motorsports.

Campbell said 59% of the 39 vehicles GM plans to show off at SEMA are small cars.“We want to make Chevrolet the brand of choice for performance, personalization and capability,” he said. “The heart and soul of SEMA is really about performance.”

The reveals include:
• The Chevrolet Cruze Upscale concept, which has a “burnished brandy metallic” exterior with a brown leather-trimmed interior, custom wheels, high-performance brakes and yellow-accent leather stitching.
• The Chevrolet Spark Sinister concept, which boasts what GM called an “aggressive” look to mesh with the night-racing that occurs in the industrial districts of big cities.
• Two special designs of the Spark designed to appeal to women, including a concept called “The Color Run” and the “‘Pink Out’ Cancer Awareness” concept.
• The Chevrolet Sonic Z-Spec 1 concept and Sonic Z-Spec 2.5 concept. With a “synergy green” exterior, the performance-oriented Z-Spec 1 has a special exhaust system that enhances the vehicle’s driving performance and lowered ride height.
• The “abalone white tricoat” Z-Spec 2.5 boasts concept wheels with “signal red” edges along with door panels and instrument panels wrapped in jet black leather, jet black suede and orange suede.
• --Spark Z-Spec concept, which features a “salsa red” exterior with body graphics in matte black, a Z-spec grille and lowered ride height.

2013 Cruze New Features
The Lordstown-built Chevrolet Cruze has several new features for 2013 that General Motors hopes will help the car maintain its position as one of the top-selling cars in America.
According to General Motors, more versions of the car will feature Chevrolet’s MyLink multimedia system as a standard feature.

MyLink is a way to use your phone in the car easily because the controls are in the steering wheel, according to the website androidcentral.com. The controls also are on a touch screen.

At its most basic, MyLink is an in-dash navigation and entertainment system that pairs with Bluetooth in an easy-to-use system. It allows the user to make calls with voice dial. It also allows users to use applications such as Pandora, the Internet-streaming music application.

Some optional equipment to be offered in the 2013 Cruze are driver and front-passenger illuminated vanity mirrors, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, rear-vision camera, rear park assist and side blind-zone alert, GM said.

New exterior colors to be available are cyber gray metallic, champagne silver metallic and Atlantis blue metallic.

The Eco model, when equipped with a manual transmission, achieves an EPA-estimated 42 mpg highway, making it the most fuel-efficient, gasoline-powered, nonhybrid car in America, GM says.

The plant is also working on several prototype diesel Cruzes in preparation for launch of the 2013 diesel model to be made in the Lordstown, Ohio facility.
