The 2014 Impala Is Quieter And More Fuel Efficient Thanks To A New 2.5-liter Ecotec Engine

The Chevrolet Impala has existed since it first appeared on a show car in 1956. And in 1964, it was an important piece of what remains an all-time sales record — Chevrolet sold more than a million full-sized sedans in a single model year. The Impala contributed an incredible 890,000 units.

As the new 2014 Chevrolet Impala begins to arrive at Jeff Gordon Chevrolet inWilmington, North Carolina the majority will be equipped with  new Ecotec four-cylinder engine technology with it improved power and  fuel economy. For the 2014 model year Chevy has a pleasant surprise, these new engines are quieter and even more fuel efficient than before.

The new 2.5 litre Ecotec engine produces 196 horsepower, 186 lb-ft of torque, and features an all-new rocker arm design that provides quieter and more precise valve lifting than in prior engines, especially at higher speeds and heavier loads. The new system is entirely controlled by the engine's computer, and makes adjustments based on the engine load . This means reduced noise and increased fuel economy - up to a full mile per gallon in certain instances.

Jeff Gordon Chevrolet has a great selection of 2014 Chevy Impala's and we even have Impala's available to order so you can color and option to your own personal preferences.
