Jeff Gordon Chevrolet Announces Production Of The 2014 Chevrolet Impala

General Motors has launched production of the redesigned Chevrolet Impala at its Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant.

“People will look at Chevrolet differently than they did before as they look at this vehicle,” said Don Johnson, Chevrolet vice president for U.S. sales and service. The arrival of the new Impala comes a year after GM unveiled it at the 2012 New York International Auto Show.

Chevy is offering the new Impala with a choice of three different direct-injection engines. Buyers can grab a 3.6L V-6, a 2.5L four-cylinder, and a 2.4L four-cylinder with fuel-saving eAssist technology.  The 3.6-liter Impala is projected to achieve 29 miles per gallon on the highway and 19 in the city. It has additional legroom in the front and back and its wheel base is 1.2 inches longer than the 2013 Impala.

The Impala includes a new entertainment system called MyLink, which includes a customizable 8-inch color display. It also comes with natural voice recognition (which is a first for a Chevy vehicle) along with new safety features such as rear cross traffic alert, side blind zone alert, and ten airbags.
